Today, I decided to ask my friend to the school dance, which is one where the girls ask the guys. I spent hours placing signs down his street so he would see them on his way home. As I was waiting in his driveway with balloons, I saw his car reverse and go in the opposite direction. FML

Today, I was going to ask this girl I love to homecoming. I set up a scavenger hunt, and my friend led her through it. At the end of the scavenger hunt I had a note that said, "Homecoming?" She said yes and hugged my friend. When I told her it was me who was asking, she laughed and said no. FML

I agree with those who have said it is major creepy! If someone did that to me just to ask me out I'd never go near them again! Do you have a shrine built for him in your closet too? This FML sounds like something a psychotic obsessed person would do. It's not sweet and its not romantic. It's stalkerish and scary! If this is the norm these days, no wonder kids in school are getting turned down all the time! (I graduated high school 5 years ago, for this site that probably does make me old LOL)

Lot of jaded cynics in here. She was trying to do something extravagant to make her friend feel special, which unfortunately backfired. Personally I don't find that creepy or clingy. Furthermore I would be thrilled if someone went through that much effort to ask me out.
