Get on with it

Today, my mom demanded that I go into the basement and fix the water heater. I told her that I had no idea how to fix it, so she threw my phone down the stairs, told me to Google it, and locked the basement door behind me. It's been two hours. FML

Plumbed out

Today, I tried to fix a leaking pipe under the sink. I watched a YouTube tutorial and was feeling confident that I could get the job done. Two hours later, half of the kitchen was practically flooded because I forgot to cut the water off, and scrambled to actually find the main valve, then I had to call an emergency plumber, who showed up, laughed, and fixed it in five minutes. Some parents... how the **** are you supposed to know the problem? how in the blue hell are you supposed to fix it? She wants to turn you into an emergency plumber?.. wickedness. At least did she give you a 3D printer to print out the required tools?

Use your phone to call 911 (or the police).

this would be a great start to a horror movie!

Just reading this made me want to call child protective services. That is seriously not ok.

take it apart and make it so someone will have to come repair it

You have your phone, just Google plumbers and call one. Have one come fix it and send the bill to your mom. You could also go the dick rout and call the cops because your mom locked you in the basement. You could also have just busted the lock and walked out of the basement or turned off all of the breakers. Now that I think about it, you had many options and I hope you did everything besides try to fix the water heater.

She needs to get her head screwed back on if she thinks that since you are a guy (assuming you are) that you have the handy-man knowledge to fix that shit. Either that, or she's way to lazy to do it herself and would rather do the work on her unsuspecting child. Excuse my language, but thats a bitch move on her part.

If you're still a minor that sure sounds like child abuse to me.

I hope you just so happened to have your charger and there's an outlet down there. It sounds like its going to be a long time til you get out. And that locking door sounds like a fire hazard to me.
