Early warning

Today, I woke up at 3 a.m. to get ready for a "fun work retreat". After driving 2 hours to the site, I find that nobody's there. After about half an hour standing there freezing, I get an email from my boss, telling me that, "It's canceled due to bad weather." FML

It's possible there was a message beforehand you were not made aware of, based on the fact no coworkers were there. That, or they were just smart enough to just stay home!

I feel your pain. I volenteered for a Habitat for Humanity project last winter through work when I was still a temp, the weather was going to be bad but they told me they never cancel. So I drove like 30 miles through terrible weather showed up, no one was there, called the contact and they said it was cancelled and they called everyone except me.

the fml says your in Missouri... LOL you can't be freezing in Missouri! your right off the gulf, and closer to the equator!

Why were you the only one there? Sounds like you got punked

It seems odd to me that you were the only one to show up. how come everyone else knew it was cancelled?
