Drunk with power

Today, I finished my classwork and my homework early. Since we weren't allowed to leave the room, I decided to draw. My teacher noticed and gave me detention for "goofing off" when I should be doing my work. When I told the teacher I was already done, they gave me a second detention for "attempting to defy them". ...somethings never change. a teacher in the classroom is like Joesph Stalin. if you stand up to him/her, you will disappear.

You know, I'm not a huge fan of snickerdoodles. But I don't understand why people think it's such a huge insult to call her "ginger." I mean, does that honestly bother her? I'm a bit out of the loop here.

FYL, OP. You have a very ignorant teacher. Doesn't she think that maybe some people are smart enough to finish the work before class is over? Or does she just assume that each person in your class is a total dumbass? Any reasonable teacher would have simply asked to see the completed work for proof.

that's ******. dumbass teachers. o_O but they hold your future in their hands. so do what they say or you're "expelled"

Did you show your teacher the work you finished?

keep yelling at them be like the ****? wanna see it ill show u all my ******* work i did it all, was draw keep yellin till ya get sent to the office i mean hot dam it isnt that scary u just sit there and talk to the vice principal, as if the principal is too busy to run the school and deal with any problems ur not gonna get in any trouble if you have never been to the office they will just say ohh u dont really get in trouble the teacher must be having a bad day.

at least you didnt get arrested like that 12 year old doodling in a new york school

Don't worry about it. I mean, contest it if you really feel like it, but it has no consequence besides making your teacher feel better about him/herself. It's not like colleges or jobs care about detentions, and if you explain to your parents then, assuming they're rational people, they probably won't care. My school has an attendance policy that if you're late more than 3 times to a class you get detention. I have a disability that sometimes renders me immobile which can make getting to class on time a ridiculous task. They gave me detention and didn't give a crap what my excuse was. It wasn't more than an insult to my dignity and a waste of my afternoon. Best just to laugh it off.

Colleges may not care, but quite a few scholarships do.

Trust me, I applied to plenty of scholarships (and got several), and not one of them asked if I had ever served detention. They all asked if I had ever been suspended or expelled, but detentions don't matter.

Three of the ones I applied to asked me if I had ever had a detention. Most don't but quite a few of them do.

Snick, this isn't a formal essay. It's FML. Sure, it's not correct, but its not a big deal really :)
