Today, my boss threatened to write me up, after I made a slightly rude joke about a coworker everyone hates. A while later, a colleague told me the same joke. Turns out my boss had gone around telling it to everyone else and taking all the credit. FML

**** your co workers life for having to deal with y'all, come on be a little more professional when you're at work rather than tell jokes about a fellow co worker

Pretend he told you the joke, claim harassment and teach him a lesson.

That should be easy since the boss is taking credit for the joke

You're all horrible to me. I don't care if y'all hate him/her. Slightly rude or not it's not OK to make fun of a coworker. You got a problem with her/him? Don't get close them and concentrate on work when they're near. That's next to bullying in my book.

Put on your big kid pants and ignore them. If they're really that bad then report them to HR.

So what? If the person it's about hears it he will be pissed at your boss not you

Exactly! I guess OP would rather be an overt asshole rather than a covert one.

Precisely, now op should just tell the co worker about the joke the boss 'created'

Well this just sucks, what was the joke though?

There's always a Jerry. I feel kinda bad about your coworker, but Parks and Rec taught me better

If it was a rude joke at the expense of someone else, why would you want the credit? It's really hard to sympathize with stupidity.

Ask your boss if their back hurts from lifting your material.

You made a rude joke about a co-worker everyone hates? Sounds like a bit of bullying going on. For the boss to spread it around is really unfortunate. I feel more sorry for the hated-on co-worker than you at this point.
