Not to be harsh but a baby/child will not cure or prevent substance abuse down the line. I hope his sobriety goes well and lasts a long if not lifetime, but I hope you understand the risks bringing in a family in the midst of that....

I'm sorry to hear that you're going to an infertility clinic instead of a fertility clinic for assistance getting pregnant by a man with an unresolved problem that requires rehab.

Hey, it’s my birthday, too!

For some reason, your husband sent me a card and I don’t even know the guy!

Happy birthday and I hope you have a kid. You can focus more on their birthdays than your own.

If your husband is in rehab for an illness or an injury, I hope he gets better soon. If he's in rehab for drugs, that's not a good environment to bring a child into. Take it from me. I'm the product of parents addicted to drugs. It's a toxic environment and the stress of a newborn will do nothing but cause more problems and likelihood of relapse. Let him get out, show he's better and adjusted, and THEN try for kids.

YDI for wasting money on an infertility clinic while your husband is in rehab, when there are plenty of bars full of nice men who will happily help you live your dream of motherhood...for free!
