Today, I was told by my new roommate that I am an attention seeker because I take antidepressants. She wouldn't know about my depression or my meds if she wasn't snooping in my room. She moved in a week ago. FML.

You should see about getting a key lock on your door and getting a medicine safe. If she's already snooping, she's probably looking for stuff to steal and sell.

Also, don't let her get inside your head and guilt trip you into thinking you don't actually need your medicine, and get you where you stop taking it because of her. That sort of thing happens way too often to people with disorders that have to be maintained throughout life with drug therapy, and it never ends well.

"It never ends well". I went from feeling like a comatose zombie with no will or identity to fully alive and vibrant after I stopped taking my prescribed medication and switched to regular therapy. Don't be such a pill pusher. It works for some and it doesn't work for some. You can't generalize like that.

I agree, although the meds have really helped me. I do therapy too, but when I try to go off my meds, it doesn't go well. I'm always happy to hear the success stories of others though, so thank you. I hope you continue to do well.
