You need to make time to clean it. If we take this at face value and believe that this really happened today, you appear to have time to post things like this to FML, but not enough time to ensure that the horn that you will be holding up to your mouth and breathing through stays reasonably clean.

It shouldn't take that much time if you do it regularly. Maybe ten to twenty minutes. And it should be done fairly frequently. If you don't clean it out often enough or well enough, bacteria can grow in there, which can cause respiratory problems like "trombone player's lung" (yes, that's a real thing -- Google it if you don't believe me).
