I have herpes too, and while it sucks, it's not the end of the world. The herpes virus can actually be dormant in your body for years without any symptoms, so it might be difficult to track it back to a specific person, depending on how long you've been with your boyfriend or how many partners you've been with over the years. If he's not willing to educate himself about it and treat you like that because of it, he's not worth having in your life. Time to move on to someone who treats you like a person instead of an insignificant disease.

My ex roommate got herpes because his girlfriend got it sleeping with 4 men, the dog, and a stick-shift car. HE was the faithful one.

Wow what a dick. His first move after giving you a std is run away. I don’t think he actually loved you but now I’m scared for all the following girls.

I feel for you. I got Herpes from a dickhead rapist at 14. It sucks and feels so unfair.
But as someone else said, it can lie dormant for years so fingers crossed you’ll have this one breakout and then nothing for the rest of your life. I’ve been “lucky” that it’s type 1 which is the least aggressive and that I’ve only ever had 1 breakout besides the initial one in 10 years.

It stills sucks though. I felt broken for years after I was first diagnosed. But it shouldn’t define how you feel about yourself, so give the douche a mental middle finger and don’t waste another minute on him.

I have it too. I was stupid in college, and got more than just a degree. Haha, but anyways fast forward, getting married, fiancé could care less about the diagnosis. He hasn’t even gotten it. It’s a very manageable disease if you get on medication to suppress it! Best of luck! :)
