As crazy as that sounds, it's actually been medically proven effective. The lactobacillus in the yogurt helps combat the yeast, but you can just eat the yogurt instead if you're not comfortable with that.

Take an oral anti-fungal designed for this (available over the counter) and use an insertable overnight probiotic designed specifically for this, like Probaclac.

I had several problems with this due to dental antibiotics, and the anti-fungals work temporarily, but the only thing that keeps it from coming back is inserted probiotics.

Technically plain yogurt may work, but not unless it is live culture and NO sugar- and it will not be effective quickly.

i see my comment was downvoated alot,So im going to explain myself a little more.
Yeast infections are usually caused by Candida albicans
Candida albicans is an opportunistic pathogenic yeast found in most humans
When your ph is off balance, a food supply in introduced, or the yeast is provided optimal conditions to multiply, youll get whats referred to as "a yeast infection"
This fungas kills over 11,000 people in the US alone each year and is not something to be taken lightly or fucked around with, with home remedies like yogert.

id be happy to put some yogert on a few petri dishes, incubated at human body temperature and show you the bacteria itll grow.Yogert is the perfect growing medium for mold, yeast and bacteria, and should not be put in a vagina, which is already a warm moist environment,at this point your just feeding the yeast that your already having a problem with.

yougert is made by fermenting milk into a gel with 2 bacteria.
yougert has a ph of about 4.4
vagina's have a ph of 3.8-4.5
The yougert has the potential to throw off your ph balance making you susceptible to a range of infections.

just as a couple of examples
yogert at that temperature could potentially grow the bacterium Clostridium botulinum (botulism)
Ecoli has a long survival time in yogert and will multiply at those temps ,every 20-30 minutes the ecoli will devide and double its count.

Do not put yogert, kitty litter or anything else up there that doesn't belong, speak to a doctor, gynecologist ect.

Using yougert is a wivestale, its false information that went out of style for awhile, but with the internet has come back as widely spread false information. But if youd like to disregard all my warnings i know a nice Nigerian prince thats happy to share his million dollor fortune with you if you send him a $1800.

The reason why (I think) your comment got downvoted, is because most of comments here already pointed out that it needs to be unsweetened, plain yoghurt. While your comment said that you shouldn't put yoghurt in there because of the sugar.

So unless you meant the lactose, it read as if you didn't read the comments and just commented something without knowing we were already at the point that sugar isn't a good idea to put in there.

You actually are wrong. Yeast infections are caused by a lack of a bacteria called Lactobacillus in the vagina. If you buy plain non-fat yogurt that has "Lactobacillus" as the bacteria culture in it and put it up your vagina it can help with the yeast infection. Here is a video for more on yeast infections: https://youtu.be/TFyEjchfHGo

You do realize as a female you should know your mom is beyond right AND if you are taking any kind of antibiotics without also taking probiotics...you will get an infection. Adulting.

Many women have issues with antibiotics giving them yeast infections. Probiotics, and plain yogurt, as mentioned, help. You may be one who needs to ask your doctor for an antibiotic for the yeast infection as well as the other antibiotic. Ask for fluconazole

As someone who gets yeast infections all the time. yogurt has NEVER helped me. I recommend going to a professional gynecologist. make sure they do the proper testing, none of that quick 5 minute microscope viewing bullshit that's 30% affective. Took me 7 gynos before I found one competent enough to run the proper test and find out exactly what yeast infection I had.
