Today, I’ve discovered the antibiotics I had to take after having my wisdom tooth removed had given me a yeast infection. My mothers solution? Dip a tampon in plain yogurt and insert it... uh no thanks. FML

As crazy as that sounds, it's actually been medically proven effective. The lactobacillus in the yogurt helps combat the yeast, but you can just eat the yogurt instead if you're not comfortable with that.

Eat the yogurt and dip the tampon in tea tree oil. Google the exact instructions tho

as I understand things - tea tree oil is a prettier name for something that essentially is turpentine.

I don't have a vagina - but no matter how infected any part of my body might be - I wouldn't use turpentine against it.

Well first you have to dilute it. Which is why I said look up the exact instructions

You are to NOT insert but put some yogurt on a pad and wear it as the yogurt helps pull the infection out. It does not belong up there.

You're supposed to use plain unsweetened yogurt for this!

I had this problem last month and all I had was peach and cherry flavored. I had to go to the store to pick up Monostat because all I could think of was *too* many bad jokes!

Lol this isn't that bad. It can actually work for some people, but I usually just go get some OTC off-brand Monistat, if I can afford it. If you have health insurance, you may be able to get a prescription for Diflucan from your doctor for little to no expense. If you can't get in to see your doctor, there's an app called Lemonaid, where you can talk to a doctor for about $25 and get a script to your local pharmacy. Hope all this helps! :)

Ask a doctor for medication. do not use yogert, yogert contains sugars and is the perfect growing medium for yeasts and bacteria, you could literally kill yourself with the harmful bacteria that could grow from yogurt.
