Today, I had to wait for my family for 12 hours at the wrong airport in Italy, and then take a €170 taxi to their hotel, because my sister thought that Venice and Rome have the same airport when the airline changed their travel plans. FML
Hey guys OP here, it was abit of a difficult situation since I study in Germany and my family lives in Israel.
The plan was that we meet up in Venice for a vacation and since I live in Berlin the only flight that I could find was the one that arrives at 11:30 am. They were expected to land at 15:30 which was a pain in the first place but was still okay, I didn't have a problem waiting a couple of hours but the airline changed thier flight and arrival time (and the airport in which they landed) to 23:30.
I thought of going to the hotel before them but the problem is that they didn't bother to tell me it's name or where it actually is before taking off.
At about 22:00 I went to ask at the info-desk about when is my family's flight arriving. To which they told me that thier flight is in another airport and surprise surprise I couldn't just take a train to Rome since it was so late and there were no more trains left.
So I just waited for thier plane to land and asked them about the hotel which was in a small city next to Venice.
I got there about 3 hours before them, since they came by a bus that the airline assigned for them.
We still had a wonderful time in Italy.
Hope that answers the questions :D
