Considering you refer to him as a guy you were fucking and not "my boyfriend" you can't really be surprised that he's not committed...

Maybe you should have asked if he was interested in a committed relationship, instead of going down the fuck buddy route. He's not your boyfriend, so he's not cheating, and you're just as responsible as he is if you haven't been having safe sex, and you've caught something. If you were dating, I'd feel bad for you, but you sound like a spoiled brat.

I completely agree, but monogamous fuck buddies are also a thing. If, and that’s a very unlikely if, they were supposed to only be fucking each other, then yeah, this sucks. Otherwise, the guy wasn’t in the wrong, just a douche about it.

Well for one thing it could be because of diseases. You have both been tested and are both negative, so you agree not to have sex with other people, so that safe between the 2 of you is still safe, while using another type of contraceptive.
It's kinda peculiar, sure, but not unreasonable. Just a relationship with less feelings involved i imagine.

Monogoamous fuck buddies is what it sounds like... even if you're not seeing someone, you can still agree that you're exclusive sexually. That was you can still have fun without being in a relationship, and without the worry of STIs etc. if you have both been tested at the start.

Shit, these guys are so judgmental. Just because you are screwing someone non-committally as friends doesn't mean you want to see them screwing other people in the room opposite you. There is still such a thing as respect...

well in my perspective, maybe the friend has a toxic household, or it being poverty stricken to the point he doesnt want to bring a girl home
