Show up in your cast with your doctor's note. Then go to HR and file a complaint. But, the fact that he didn't believe you and thinks you'd lie about something like this makes me wonder WHY he doesn't trust you.

I am presuming that it is the U.S . and the ridiculous fire at will laws? Also, I am presuming he owns the company and there is no HR (who usually are there to protect the employer anyways). As such an FML for the bad luck of living in the U.S. where there are such idiotic laws.

Disability laws or whatever should protect him him if he’s able to work, or I’d assume they would, since in the moment he couldn’t work due to a disability that had to be treated. Now that he got a cast or boot, he’s probably able to work if it’s an office job or something where he gets to sit down, so he hopefully can get his job back. (I may be wrong...)

(Edit: Her, didn’t see the female symbol)

Even with "at will" work laws in the United States, this is highly illegal. U.S. labor laws make it illegal to fire someone for medical problems. He can sue, and he will win.

Send him a picture of your leg in a cast along with a Summons and Complaint.
