This Betta Fish Was On It’s Last Fin But Got A Second Chance At Life When A Kind Soul Rescued Him From Walmart

What FML type luck is it to be born a fish, but be stuck in a Walmart that’s not taking care of you at all?

Okay, we’re all thinking it: Walmart is a sad, sad place where people do strange things and where dreams go to die. But for one poor little betta fish that was about to lose his fins from lack of care, the notion of death was a little too real.

According to The Dodo, the betta fish would have likely died in the Walmart had it not been for one kind lady perusing the store that day and caught sight of the fish that was clearly very sick.

Victoria Schild, a literal angel from heaven, wasn’t planning on buying a pet that day. But, upon seeing the fish and its condition, she decided to take it home to try and bring it back to health.

"I felt incredibly sad for the little guy and decided that I didn't want him to die in there, just rotting away,"  Schild said."I was 95 percent sure he was going to die that night."

The woman brought the fish to her home and began researching everything she could about bringing a fish back to health. After some time of changing his water daily and giving the fish medicine, the fish’s tail began to regrow.

“within a week of clean warm water, medicine and basic care he started getting better!" Schild said.

After four weeks of being in Schild’s care, the fish was completely recognizable with a clean bill of health.

You go girl! It’s kind, caring, compassionate people like her that make humanity alright instead of the FML cesspool it normally is.

I work at a pet store that sells Betta fish and I am the fish mom there because not one single one of my coworkers even consistently remembered to feed them, let alone change water. I fed them once and they became my sole responsibility forever from that moment on. I love this story so much. I love being a Betta mom.
