Robbers Arrested After Coming Back For More
When a Belgian vape shop was stormed by a gang of thieves this week, the owner outwitted them in truly cartoonish style.
According to BBC, Didier found himself face-to-face with 6 robbers in his shop in broad daylight. Thinking quickly, he tried to befriend them and told them that if they came back at the end of the day, he'd have a lot more money for them.
"There was some pushing and shoving. I didn't give them a thing, but said if they came back later I would have 2 or 3,000 euros."
After 14 long, tense minutes, the group of 6 would-be thieves bought his story and left the shop in peace. Didier then called the police, of course, but they found it pretty hard to believe that the thieves would actually come back.
Then, an hour before closing at around 5:30 pm, the robbers were back. Didier saw one of them at the door and told them it was still too early.
When the group finally came back at 6:30 pm for their long-awaited loot, the police were ready. They laid in wait at the back of the shop, and handily arrested them. In total, there were five men arrested, including one minor.
"It's like it was a comedy. They're being called the worst robbers in Belgium."
We'd totally pay to see that one.
