Parents Forget 5-Year-Old Child At Airport

It sounds like something out of a Home Alone movie...

Remember being 5 years old? For some of us that was several decades ago, but everyone can probably understand the terror of being left alone in a public place as a small child. Losing track of mom in the grocery store was nightmare enough... Getting stranded in an airport must be 10x worse!

Police in Reutlingen say that officers found a 5-year-old girl wandering through the airport alone in Stuttgart on Monday. Her parents were nowhere to be seen, so she was taken to the aiport police station. Soon afterwards, the girl's mother called to ask if her young daughter had been found.

Apparently the family had just returned from a vacation, and the mother and father had to split up at the airport to take their separate cars home. In classic parental confusion, each thought the other had taken their daughter with them. It's unclear how long the child was left alone, but in the end, her father came back to the airport to fetch her. Most awkward airport pickup ever, but all's well that ends well!

What's the dumbest mistake your parents ever made? Don't say "having my siblings" - you may need them someday to split the retirement home fees!

Sounds like the makings of a 6th Home Alone movie.

UMM WOW that's not classic parental confusion that's down right irresponsible parenting really a 5yr old in a airport, why wasn't someone holding her hand a child that young should be being held in some way in the kind of congestion that is any airport terminal 🙄😨😡

When are poeple going to learn that leash laws exist for a reason? Particularly when your in a busy public area, you should always have a leash on them.

and maybe a muzzle too.
