New Jersey Man Eats Pizza Every Day For Nearly 40 Years
Mike Roman of New Jersey has been eating pizza for dinner for 37 years. His journey started at around 3 or 4 years old, when his parents first introduced him to the tasty dish. His mother tried serving him other foods afterwards, but he refused it all until she gave in and let him keep eating pizza. What about lunch? Always peanut butter, at least until the end of high school.
A peanut butter sandwich for lunch every day and pizza for dinner... It's a wonder that he's in relatively good health!
If you think we're exaggerating on this "every day" thing, you should hear it from Roman himself on the New Theory podcast:
So... Why does he do it? Why eat the same thing ever single day for 37 years? "It's like, you gotta eat cause you're hungry and that's how it’s always been. I've also always pretty much watched the same shows, movies, listened to the same bands, and did the same things, for about 40 years, nothing really changed. So pizza just kinda went along with it."
At a glance it seems kind of sad, but he knows what he likes and he's happy with it. It definitely didn't ruin his love life either, as he got married last year. Of course, there was pizza served at the wedding. "We had it for the cocktail hour like a pizza stand and I had some, and they came out at our table, they brought a pizza for me and I had it again." Such dedication.
He only cracked once in the interview when asked if he'd rather give up the pizza or sex. He hesitated for a while, and then said, "I guess I'd have to learn to have, you know, cereal for dinner, and French toast or pancakes. IHOP's open, so that's not a problem." What a champ.
People from New Jersey are fascinating, eh?
