30 Times Women Asked Out Men For The #DateChallenge and Got Brutally Shut Down

By Nina / jeudi 2 novembre 2017 05:30
One British blogger challenged women to ask guys out and share their responses, and while the results were mostly positive, some men did not spare any feelings with their savage responses.

A few days ago, British relationship blogger Oloni asked women on Twitter to ask out a guy of their choice and share the response online, challenging the cultural norm that say men should be the one to ask out women on a date. What she called the #datechallenge quickly went viral and the responses came flooding in.

As you might expect, they were all pretty heartwarming and encouraging. I mean, who doesn’t want to be asked out on a date? Especially men, who were happy to be relieved of that pressure.

But we at FML aren’t too concerned with happy endings. We rather like watching things crash and burn, and while most of the responses gave us the warm n’ fuzzy feels in our tum-tums, we got our fair share of schadenfreude in as well from the date challenges that went, well...worse than expected, with guys not just denying the date, but shutting the girls down completely.

It was ruthless, heartless, and (since the challenge was all in good fun) kind of funny too. Here are some of the most savage!

1. This is what it's like to get curved by a chemist.

2. I'm sorry, but who are you facetiming with for 2.5 hours?!

3. Loud and clear.

4. Not everybody is down with the date challenge.

5. ...132 unread messages?

6. I feel the eye roll.

7. You shouldn't have been so lame the first time around, bud.

8. And not a single feeling was spared.

9. He channeled Randy Jackson for that turn down.

10. Shady, bro.

11. Laughable, apparently.

12. He's just being realistic.

13. You missed your chance, babe.

14. Harsh.

15. That hurts.

16. Sure, blame it on the service provider.

17. The emoji turn down is the most frustrating.

18. Jumping to conclusions.

19. Welp, at least it was because of your personality.

20. Swerved.

21. Direct and to the point.

22. Didn't your mama teach you manners, boy?

23. Well that's an elaborate excuse.

24. Guess that failed.

25. No, but I will be soon after reading that message.

26. rekt.

27. Huh, I've heard of friend-zoned, but this is a new one.

28. No need for profanity!

29. Ouchhh.

30. And one not-so-terrible turn down to give you a little faith in humanity!

I asked out a guy friend I liked last year, a month later he was my boyfriend, and we're still going strong. Nothing wrong with women asking out men.

Have you not seen the dozens of men getting shot down compilations? This is the first one I've seen of women getting shot down but for every one of these there are ten showcasing exactly what you want.

So when do we get to see the nasty messages women send to men who ask them out? I'm going to venture a guess and say never since it's only ever mean when a guy does it to a girl.

I see ALOT of things on the internet of girls brutally rejecting guys. It’s actually way more prevalent than the reverse. And some of the things I’ve seen girls send are way more brutal than the guys that responded in this list.

I have to stand up for the guy in #28, she texted him at 3:40am, a lot of people would have the same response especially if the text woke them up??? For #23, she’ll be waiting a long time since he said he’ll talk to her in 3020. For some of these, the girls don’t say right away that they want to go out with the guy, they just ask if they guy wants to go out on a date, so I can’t blame #10 for thinking she was hooking him up with her friend

I am laughing hard and living vicariously through the guys that "threw shade" in their response lol because a while back when I did something similar said girl's response was "Its against my religion" but had no problem tonguing the guy next to me minutes later.
