The fact that you live under their roof while you're in college, fml. But if they're not charging you rent, then you need to pitch in, especially if it's a whole month away.

you have an entire month to finish the essays. I understand you want to spend as much time as possible on them in order to get a good grade, but taking half an hour or so out of your schedule to help them with decorating really isn't going to harm you.
Double fyl if you also dislike putting up christmas stuff before thanksgiving
