Having your mailbox run-over doesn't make the mail disappear... Either it was already delivered prior to the accident and it's on the ground close by, or the postman deemed it "undeliverable" due to the mailbox's condition, and it's at your local post office. If mail hadn't come yet, call them and ask to pick it up yourself, or replace the box and it will be there on the next day that the post is scheduled to arrive.
