Today, I told my whole family for the first time that I'm bisexual. I have been for 5 years. My dad who is very homophobic and my mum and brother don't believe me and think I'm joking cause I've never been with a girl, FML.

It's apparent that OP is referencing the amount of time since they became aware of that aspect of their identity. They're already dealing with their family being dicks about their coming out, they don't really need someone picking at their word choices in a mocking manner.
