Today, I came home from a 3-week vacation. Upon arriving home, I heard voices inside my house. Considering I live alone, I called the cops. Turns out I had left my TV on for the entire 3 weeks. Can't wait to see the electricity bill. FML

Unless you have an older model lcd with a huge screen I wouldn't worry about it. A modern led tv uses less power than a 40 watt old school lightbulb.

While true, even 40W adds up to roughly 20 kWh over 3 weeks. Not sure what Canadian electricity prices are like though.

Today, I bought a Halloween fog machine to make my front yard look spooky. I didn’t realize it would set off my house's fire alarm when I tested it before putting it on the front porch. I ended up outside in full costume while firefighters checked my “haunted” house. FML

Today, police knocked on my door in middle of the night. They said there was a fire in one of the houses in our street, so they were evacuating houses. They wouldn’t let me go back and get dressed. As I was only in my underwear, they told me I could wait in their car. FML
