Today, at my mother's funeral, as everyone was around her casket for the viewing, my 5-year-old son in cluelessness of what was going on shouted, "Grandma is more fun when she isn't sleeping." Everyone cried. FML

it reminds me when I was about three my grandpa passed away and I asked my dad, "dad why is grandpa in a dresser?" i guess a few people laughed including my dad. now he is gone too... :( I'm sorry OP

Children don't belong everywhere. A 5-year-old has no concept of death or funerals. This is why we have babysitters. Why would someone want to wrangle a kid, while dealing with their mother's funeral?
