also the blonde hair trait is generated from the recessive allele (you recieve one from each of your parents), so even if both of you had brown hair it would still be possible for your child to have blond hair if you both carried the recessive allele (being heterozygous)

Aw hell, this is going to start the "YDI, get married first" comments.
You could explain to your BF that two dark-haired people could have a blond child due to recessive genes, or just get a paternity test and make his dumb ass pay for it.
