Why did you get your mother a gift that you were clearly planning on benefiting from? It's supposed to be about her, not you. Buy yourself a spa package if you want one so bad. If not, wait for mom to come home and spend time with her then.

I agree with #7. Why didn't you just get her the certificate for one, and then tell her that you were planning to go with her. Getting someone else a gift that is also meant to be a gift for yourself is kind of selfish. If you give someone something for two people, it's their right to go with whomever they choose - they're not obligated to take anyone in particular at all! That said, your mom's a bitch.
