Today, I took my mom out to a fancy restaurant, and spent close to $300 on her Mother's Day present. Later, my little brother drew her a card with crayons on pink construction paper. She cried. He's 20 years-old. FML

just goes to show money doesn't buy happiness

At least your Mom cares for the sentimental things. Mine bitched at me for not getting her anything. I'm 1,000 miles away and unemployeed. Called her several times throughout the day to at least wish her a Happy Mother's Day. She never picked up. She only called back to bitch at me.

hey, 4 mother's day i asked my mom what she wanted me 2 draw from an anime drawing book...xcept then i spent like hours on it 2 make it look all professional soo....she luved it btw. gave it a quick glance, then put it on the floor.

Who can blame her? Her 20 year old son can't afford a present and still uses crayons! Still, I forgot to call my mum on mother's day which is probably worse. I am a horrible person.

maybe by taking her to dinner, she probably thought you were calling her fat ;)

its the little things that mean soo much

Tears of joy or disappointment? I could see both happening.
