Well, pay the fee and be happy you don't live under such lame management anymore.
Why do people refuse to type things out anymore? It's not that hard to type "die in a fire."

TERRORISM
Fuck #1
Don't try and do nice things, shit always happens to people for it
Why would you leave behind toilet paper? Who in their right mind would want to use toilet paper that was in their apartment before they moved in? I wouldn't say you deserve to pay $50 though. That seems stupid.
I agree- I would never trust the person, who knows what they could've done to it? I am wiping it on my privates, after all.
if you won't use the TP someone left behind in an apartment you just moved into what do you wipe your ass with in the public restrooms?
Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.
which is exactly why i don't use public restrooms. also, who says i wipe?? lol
that's kinda sick, dude... not gonna lie
TRUE THAT.
why pee in a public restroom then. hahahahah
ewwww. why wouldn't you wipe???? that's just gross. and unhealthy.
Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.
its not that unhealthy to not wipe. let me give you an example, if u have a hairy butt poo gets stuck and forces you to wipe more than you have to leading to the feeling of "aw fuck it"
LMFAO! Wtf, dude?
Hairy butt poo? xDD
you know this from experience?
I just clearly dont use public washrooms
considering he's probably a guy, it's called shake and go
see, we don't need to sit down to piss

I thought you were supposed to leave things like toilet paper and light bulbs...
I have to agree with #3. Just move on with your life and take the toilet paper with you because that is now a $50 roll of TP.
This comment has been moderated.
Someone left me some toilet paper once at a new place and I really appreciated it!
I would fight this, because it is completely unfair to have to pay $50 for something that costs less than $1. If you already got your deposit back, I would just not pay it.
Heed the old adage: no good deed goes unpunished.
thankyou #12
#8 "The1337fmlguy" -pfft there's nothing leet about you, what a fucktard.
Just say no. Get it in writing, and worst case sue in small claims court.
#8 - Ummm, no. I've been first several times and have NEVER patted myself on the back or brought useless, reasonless attention to myself.
Want to cheer about being first on something? Take up a sport. Join the Special Olympics, there everyone comes in first.
Common misconception; in Special Olympics, athletes are divisioned out by ability level, so they compete against other athletes of similar skill level. Within that division, though, they definitely don't all come in first. Divisions have anywhere from 3-8 people, and athletes will get disqualified if they break the rules (i.e. crossing into someone else's lane during a track meet, etc.).
The More You Know!
because knowledge is power!!!
So why do you have to pay $50 for leaving something there? That makes no sense.
FYL indeed
Are you serious, they charge you for leaving stuff behind? Joh, hectic and totally illogical! FYL indeed
I moved into a place one time where the previous tenant left me a six pack of tall-boys in the fridge and a floater in the toilet.
that's the coolest thing i've ever heard!!
My roommate almost got charged for that in her last dorm because she left a half filled box of tissues for the next people.
Was it at least Scott's Extra Soft?
i'm such a boring tosser, it's unbelievable ;-)
what the hell?!
Toilet paper is hardly a "personal" item
the management must be really retarded or you must have left something else behind that you forgot about.
but seriously, wtf?!
@7 - not that I'd ever make a habit of using random toilet paper left behind by previous tenants, I wouldn't find it any more unsettling than using toilet paper in a public restroom -particularly when you're in a public restroom and the new roll has just been left on top of the toilet/toilet paper holder instead of being placed on the roll. As a female, I can tell you that as long as it's dry and looks to be untouched, any toilet paper is better than drip-dry!
well thats what happens in life.. you try to be nice and end up being screwed
This comment has been moderated.
#25, you need to get a life, asap. Go stub your toe on the corner of a coffee table
seriously....did you honestly think that would be a good deed....leaving toilet paper. Im sure the world appreciates you.
You obviously needed the toilet paper more because your luck is shitty.
some people are weird about things like that though, i mean if i was moving in after you i'm not sure if i would have appreciated the gesture unless the roll was individually sealed but i sure as hell wouldn't have reported you! lol i guess the new tenants are super anal :P
#33 - On 05/29/2009 at 2:59pm by Kaylia22
Aww, atleast you tried to be nice :>
#34 - On 05/29/2009 at 3:04pm by Dane
same thing happened to me!!
i still dont get it
The management isn't retarded. It's amoral. Of course they don't actually think this person should pay $50 for a single roll of toilet paper. They just wants $50. The toilet paper is just an excuse to make the fine seem legitimate.
This comment has been moderated.
Karma. Something good will happen to you. That sucks. My college will do the same. Anything will get you a fine, even tissues or the baking soda in the fridge.
omg i left a roll of TP in my apartment when i moved out too because i thought it was stupid to take home a 1/4 of a roll, if i get charged i'll refuse to pay.

#40 - On 05/29/2009 at 3:14pm by jadeddream
Oh well. Not really an FYL or a YDI, just a normal bullshit part of life.
lol, 37, you got owned by fml staff. life fail
Wow... #37 (I will not refer to you as the1337fmlguy, as you are anything but) maybe you were first, but who really cares. Nobody else will see what you said anyway. And who makes such a big deal about being "first". I imagine you're the kind of person who always ran to be first in kindergarten when you had to walk through the halls led by a teacher in a single file line, the kind of person who will shove you out of the way in an elevator for the satisfaction of pushing the button, the kind of person who will race anybody whether they agree to participate or not, then do a little "I won the race" chant after you sprint to the destination while they continue walking at a normal pace, trying to ignore your immaturity. What are you, a toddler? Maybe your comment was first, but it doesn't really matter. Did you just stay on FML constantly refreshing the page until a new post came, and then quickly write your stupid comment? I didn't even see your first comment, but I don't have to to know you didn't say anything about the FML and just exclaimed some "I'm first" crap with a lot of unnecessary cursing. Please reserve the first spot for comments that are actually relevant... and learn to be more emotionally mature than a 3-year-old with a caffeine overdose. FML staff, disregard his unintelligent insults, and keep up the good work.

#30...hilarious! it hurts so badly! hahaah
and sorry OP, FYL...I'd be pumped if there was some extra TP when i moved in!
Perhaps comment #43 should be left for having relevance to the FML as well?
And for those who says the OP deserves it... I would certainly appreciate a roll of toilet paper if I were moving into a new apartment. When you gotta go you gotta go, and I wouldn't think to carry in a roll when I'm going to my new apartment.
That sux OP. At least u tried to do a good deed.
No good deed goes unpunished. That why I quit ;)
You should of tried talking to them.
I recently helped my boyfriend move and he didn't have any toilet paper. What few rolls he did have were in a box of toiletries that didn't make it into that first truck (all furniture). I would have been really happy to find some TP there. As long as it's not wet! But drip drying sucks.
#50 - On 05/29/2009 at 3:49pm by tash14
I'd have to wonder just what the last tenant did that make him A) Not want his toilet paper and B) leave it behind when the terms of his lease clearly spell out that he shouldn't do so. My first thought would be that the guy had tampered with it as an FU to the management
Too many negative votes, comment buried. Show the comment.
#43 stop writing fucking novels. Nobody cares.
OP, that sux I would be like wtf and not even pay!!
#52 - On 05/29/2009 at 3:56pm by lilcuti3pi389
It came out of the deposit. So if she wants it back, she'd have to do something more than "not pay"
#161 - On 06/21/2009 at 1:54am by mao
That's ridiculous! Bloody landlords. Don't pay it!
My old landlord once refused to pay me back any of my deposit because I had to leave the house at short notice (and the country) for a funeral back in my home country. I had even found him a new tenant that could move in the same day I had to leave so that he wouldn't lose rent. I was willing to sacrifice half the deposit (the equivelent of two weeks rent - the same amount of notice I should've given before moving out)- to help make up for the inconvenience. He refused to give me any of the money back and so in the days before I left I made sure I did the best I could to run up the equivelent amount owed to me in phone/utility bills. If I wasn't going to get that money I was going to make damn sure he wasn't keeping any of it. :-( Insensitive tosser.
Anyway... moral of that story (and this one) landlords are money-grabbing arseholes and there really is absolutely no point in trying to do anything nice for them. I'm sorry we both learnt the hard way :-(

You should have talked to someone about this. In my town it's illegal for landlords to do any sort of thing like this. They are legally required to show an apartment if someone needs to leave as if it were the end of a lease. People still need to pay the rent if they don't get a new tenant, but the landlord still needs to try to get a new tenant.
#162 - On 06/21/2009 at 1:56am by mao
It's hilarious how people keep feeding the "first!" trolls. Haven't you been on the internetz before?
are you feeding the people that feed the trolls?
omg am I feeding the person that feeds the people that feed the trolls!?
nooo!
#18 of course it makes sense! your not allowed to leave personal items behind its in the contract!! you are an idiot #18 and your tan looks fake!!
Bonus points for hijacking Genius_boy16's "About Me" section.
see, and here i thought it was kind of a dick move to actually TAKE the half-roll or whaetever of toilet paper that's left.
guess i was wrong!
they charged you because now one of their employees had to throw it out. its stupid to charge for toilet paper but they clearly dont make exceptions since some people leave more stuff that they have to pay someone to clean up. and honestly if i found toilet paper in my new apt i would never ever use it and probably complain about my place not being empty
#43 sorry to tell you, but no matter how big and poetic your comment was, that won't stop people from saying 1st.
#58 - On 05/29/2009 at 4:17pm by annahoward
thats some expensive toliet paper thereXD
Fuck em, call em up and throw a fit. Or you can pay them and take them to small claims court for frivolous charges.
aint nobody want your grimy toilet paper
Tell them you'll pay it after they give you back your toilet paper.
While it kinda sucks to be charged 50$ for TP you probably shouldn't have left it there. I wouldn't be happy if i moved into an apartment and some random dude's half used roll of TP was still there.
Thanks #6! now ya tell me.
#39
Wait until your credit goes down because you left that charge unpaid.
omg. thats frickeen hilarious : ] too bad though. i dont think you should halfta pay $50 for that , !
When I was at uni the rooms we lived in were used as accomodation during the summer break for people on courses etc and when we moved in there were always half used rolls of toilet paper left in the bathrooms. When we moved out at the end of the year we got charged if we left any...
No good deed goes unpunished I guess.. But really, $50 because you left TP behind? That seems a bid ridiculous to me.. Be glad you are getting out of there, I guess.
#68 - On 05/29/2009 at 4:58pm by Glam
people are so quick to be mean jerks all the time. If someone left me tp in my bathroom id either use it or not notice and not ever think about it. people tend to suck fyl
#69 - On 05/29/2009 at 4:59pm by jb20
no good deed goes unpunished
Although with my previous comment posted, I would not pay this without a good fight first. Here's what I would do if I was the original poster. Go to the apartment house leasing center. Wait until some potential renters walk in, and then go up to the management and start screaming, saying how "it is ridiculous how I am being charged 50 bucks for leaving toilet paper behind, I would have went back to the apartment if it was that big of a deal." The management probably won't want you to spoil the potential renters view on the apartment, so they will probably rescind the 50 dollar charge if you make them out to be the greedy people they really are. Most apartment managers will agree, letting the 50 dollar charge go and shutting you up>losing one or two potential apartment lenders.
That's just silly. I'd fight it. Tell them if they're going to be such jerks that they won't let you leave some TP for the next person, they should just throw it out.
#43, tl;dr. Learn to use paragraphs.
You might have left other things that you forgot about if it was the next tenant who reported it (no one's gonna get mad about one little roll of toilet paper). If it was the owner, then of course they're going to nail you with all the fees they can before you leave, that's how renting works. You don't deserve it, but not an FML either.
DOn't pay it.
You don't live there anymore. Tell the landlord to keep it becasue he is obviously full of shit.
#74 - On 05/29/2009 at 5:38pm by alwaysalady
Don't pay it. RIDICULOUS! They could have easily thrown it away.
If you're in the US, pretty much every state has tenant legislation that requires deductions to be itemized, and not arbitrary. I'd go back into the management office, and either ask for a receipt, or an itemization of how they arrived at a cost of $50 for the disposal of the item, based on employee salaries, etc.
The last apartment I lived in was given a "clean" at the move out inspection. I had the carpets steam cleaned by a company beforehand, and kept the receipt.
Got a check for the deposit a week later, minus $200 for steam cleaning. I ended up at small claims court, since they had stated the condition was clean, there was proof it had been cleaned, and when I challenged them to provide proof that they'd cleaned it again, they couldn't come up with receipts.
Most landlords like to look at deposits as money that is theirs unless you can prove otherwise.
Don't even start me on pet deposits, which is purely an extortion racket based on "how much do you love your animals?" - you'd think that if there was pet-caused damage, your 'pet fee' would go against that. Hahaha. You wish.

You don't get anywhere now-a-days for trying to be nice! Didn't you know??? Haha FYL
#77 - On 05/29/2009 at 7:10pm by dang
I had a similar deal. In my old apartment, part of the contract was there was no way out of paying the cleaning fee when you moved out, as they always cleaned every apartment. I left a beer in the refrigerator, and stuck a postit note to it saying "For the Cleaner". I can't remember how much it ended up taking out of the bond, though.
Definately dispute it. 90% of all landlords will try to rip you off when you move. I've found that it always helps to look up your tenant landlord laws and to dispute (in writing making sure you keep copies and use registered mail if mailing). Most states allow you to take your landlord to small claims court and the penalties are usually 3x the amount of the deposit (or disputed amount). Some allow for additional penalties. Point out the the landlord how rediculous it will look to a judge to be charged $50 for leaving a roll of toilet paper as a courtesy for the next tenant. Even if he took the roll out and disposed of it, he can't justify anything more than the going rate of labor.
I've disputed with 4-5 different landlords, and I've won every dispute without it even having to go to court. I usually have to threaten with court, but when they see that they stand to lose a lot more than they stand to win (because of the 3x penalties), they usually back down.
I think you should sue the landlord, you would win the case easily, 50$ for giving them toilet paper.
no good deed goes unpunished
I hope they gave you back the toilet paper at least.
That sucks. My friend once fixed the door in his apartment when it broke (his landlord took FOREVER to fix anything, and why not fix it of you can), and he was charged for "tampering with property" or something like that.
Say it was there when you moved in.
wait for karma:D
#84 - On 05/29/2009 at 8:22pm by cookiee00
I just moved out last weekend and my mom told me to leave that and hand soap behind. I told her no b/c if I did I knew I'd be charged. Sucks for you.
Although, who'd want to use mysterious toliet paper?
"No good deeds go unpunished." ;D
#87 - On 05/29/2009 at 9:30pm by crazieeli
Were I in your shoes, I'd challenge that. Find out precisely what they say you left behind. If it's only the TP, challenge it.
#12 don't tell someone to 'play in traffic' just because they are lame enough to say 'first'. if anyone should play in traffic its you

lol am i the only one who wouldnt use toilet paper someone left behind? (i know it's no different than a public bathroom but still)

Wow... well, that just further solidifies my cynical belief that the road to hell really is paved with good intentions. Bleh.
#94 - On 05/30/2009 at 1:37am by jmarie
The management over at my apartment put toilet paper in (new apartment, we're the first tenants) and I was very appreciative!
FYL, that is fucking retarded. And look: yes, doing good deeds (even ones this small) can bring bad things. That doesn't mean you shouldn't do good things AT ALL! That's idiotic! Do good things. Yeesh.
what the hell are you all on?
if I move in somewhere and there's a roll of toilet paper left I wouldn't think twice about using it. and I would never think twice about leaving a roll there either. must be some weird American thing, we must be more laid back here or something.
How is freaking out about toilet paper being left behind "laid back"? I would imagine there's more effort in taking the toilet paper out than there is in just leaving it behind and just using it.
#171 - On 06/21/2009 at 10:18am by IHateXbox
Hahahaha that sucks but its pretty ironic.
#97 - On 05/30/2009 at 3:06am by trapiadora
I always leave toilet paper for the next tenant. I've even left some water bottles (unopened, of course) in the fridge before when I knew that people would be moving in shortly after I left. If I ever got charged $50 for that I would raise hell until I got my money back. FYL, OP. Be glad you've moved out.
oh my god!!!! this is one of the most unjust and stupid "punishments" i have ever heard. Unless they already took it out of your security depost, don't pay it and write them a letter telling them they are idiots! Seriously, I have left tp at every place I have ever left, specifically for the conscientious factor and i will keep doing it! Don't stop being a nice and thoughtful person just because the rest of the world is filled with morons
How do you know that the "personal item" was the toilet paper?
It doesnt get much more personal than toilet paper! :D
But yeah, surely its common courtesy to leave the paper there. Its kinda expected. As was said, toilet paper and light bulbs. And soap, maybe. Because really, you cant leave toilet paper and not soap...
that's just dumb. there's no way you should be charged like that. Toilet paper is not a personal item, you should go back and take it back along with the holder.
let me guess. you live in new york.
@82 - what your friend SHOULD have done is sent his landlord a receipt of the work done to the door. It is perfectly legal to fix things yourself, or at least in NH, as long as you tell the landlord in advance that you're going to take matters in to your own hands if they don't act. Before it even gets to that stage, you can even legally threaten to withhold your rent entirely if they don't fix it; and if they pass the reasonable time frame for when the repairs should be made, you can then send them the receipt from a legit and reputable vendor along with your rent check, reduced by the amount that you paid out of pocket for said repairs.
I agree with the poster who said to threaten to challenge it in court, as landlords are required to prove in detail why they're charging you that specific amount.
Actually #93 I have no idea who this "genius_girl16" is other than some weird internet stalker.

#114 - On 06/03/2009 at 7:05am by glamourful
It's pretty obvious they're abusing that part of the contract, and there's probably legal action of some sort that could be taken, though it wouldn't be worth $50. On that note, if you refuse to pay, they're probably not going to sue you over it either.
What a bunch of lameassed fuckoids.
If you've got a clear-cut case, it's definitely worth it to sue. You can ask for court costs and even punitive damages as part of the suit. The only problem is wading through the virtual sewage of frivolous cases that clog the court system. Most people don't want to wait 3 years for justice so they let it slide.
you should take a dump and insead of TP use a fifty dollar bill and mail it to them!
This comment has been moderated.
What do you care? Don't pay it and move on. What do you think they're going to hunt you down for your $50 dollars? Unless of course you were silly enough not to get back your deposit/last month's rent upon moving out.
It's a courtesy when you're moving out to leave around a few things in your house/apartment, light bulbs, toilet paper, garbage bags, sometimes bottles of water though I wouldn't drink them.
When we moved into our condo the lady had left us some garbage bags, glass cleaner, toilet paper, paper towels, eight thousand keys to we haven't figured out yet, and some table cloths.
Go get that toilet paper back, then TP the apartment!
no good deed goes unpunished! LOL. Really great illustration
This illustration adds absolutely nothing to the story.
but the illustration is FUNNEH!
truth, it really doesn't do anything at all, not even funny. Just kinda there.
I agree. It's a fine art style and a cute illustration, but boring. There wasn't really any point in illustrating this particular FML, and the illustration was just... boring.
Yeah, have to agree.

Honestly, and I mean honestly! What is up with the horrible illustrations!?!?!
The only good one was the one done by Matsumoto Nina....and its because she draws manga!
Not tryin to be mean, but jesus D:
I don't think Manga equals good illustration but I agree that a lot of them suck. I thought in the first panel, she was holding an Olympic torch or something. I wish it was more than just writing out the FML with pictures.
Although, I never really liked this FML to begin with.

This is a crappy illustration >.
I'd like to see if you can do better!
Yeah really! I can't stand it when people insult the illustrations, when most of the time it's probably coming from someone who can't draw worth crap :\
You people are retarded. You don't have to have greater than or equal-to talent of the person whose artwork you dislike. Do you have any idea how ridiculous you sound when you say that? It's like someone saying they don't like a particular song and someone saying "WELL SHUT UP LUZER I BET U CANT DEW BETTR SO SHUT UP". That's absolutely ludicrous. If we see something displeasing to the eye, we have the right to say something about it.
Who made you people the critic police, anyway? You go ahead and worship anything that's better than what you can accomplish, but the rest of us will actually utilize our brains and have an opinion.
#154; It's amusing how you're criticizing people for criticizing people who criticize people.

Don't sweat it anamaia, I'm on your side. People are allowed to have different opinions, and I hate when people try and de-value someone's opinion by claiming they have no right to speak if "they can't do better". It's the stupidest argument ever.
I like the illustration, nyo. It's amusing.
I wish I could see comments that have been moderated :(

the $50 could have been for something else.. if that lessens the FMLness

Ahaha, love the illustration. The coloring is especially great.
#124, 129, 130
talk and no walk
I don't see why everyone is so spazztic about the art. Most of the illustrated FMLs tell the story very well despite the art. Not like you can't tell what's going on in them, this isn't an art contest.

Gaahh! Thats what you get for trying to be nice?!
I would have been glad i wouldn't of had to go to Walmart for some butt whipe! :D
People these days..
That sucks, I woulda been happy to have an extra roll of toilet paper.
And that is where you go and TP the landlord's house. When I moved into my apartment, the previous person left a few cartons of unopened Graeter's Ice Cream in the freezer!
Well it must really suck to be u. Now u no 4 next time never leave toilet paper 4 any1 i mean they can buy their own
when they leave something behind, you steal it. duh
u should sue, go on judge judy. i could see this case on there
nice drawings! well sometimes i know what you mean when we try to be nice to other people... sometimes what you expect does not happen
#157 - On 06/21/2009 at 12:24am by TheHighEndOfLow
Toilet paper is NOT a personal item. In fact, it's incredibly impersonal; everyone wipes his/her @$$ with pretty much the same stuff. You have the pissiest landlord ever and should organize a bit of "bad publicity" for them. Bastards.
This comic would've been alright... but the last panel is kind of blah. The way she's saying "I'm being fined 50$ for leaving behind personal items!" is kind of unrealistic. I mean, would anyone actually say all of that out loud? If you ask me, it would have been better to just show a close-up of the letter and then have her saying "FML!"
Well, at least the artwork is up to par, unlike some of the other comics.
#164 - On 06/21/2009 at 2:16am by liquidskyfire
This illustration is crap. Adds nothing to the FML, just a very dull representation of the story by OP.
HAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHA !

As they say, no good deed goes unpunished.

That is why when I move out, I will attempt to clear with my landlady first whether it's okay to leave gifts for the next tenant. (And specify which gifts I'm leaving.)
Everyone else do the same, and you'll not worry about any fines.
THAT SUCKS

personally. you have to be thinking of the money they make by passing off anything left behind as personal...deposits are what? $1000? and plus they are getting an additional 50 out of you. in there position, thats easy money. like they have not made enough off of you anyway.
I bought a new set of mini blinds for my old place and they charged me for damaged mini blinds. Apartment complexes will charge you for whatever they want! It's just stupid.
Nice people get bad things.
I think the art for the illustration is good and all, but it is kind of boring since it doesn't really add anything to the FML. My main concern, however, is why she has a boomerang flying towards her head in the last panel. What's the deal with that?
hmmmm if I moved in, and I had to use the bathroom really badly I'd be glad to find toilet paper

They should've picked a different one to illustrate. This is a good FML, but the drawing just doesn't really add anything to it.
They want your money FYL. 0.0
D= I'de pay for your $50 myself. Sorry 'bout that.
Maybe they dont use toilet paper...
Well just feel glad you did something good even if they don't see that in all the work you did
I don't believe it cost the management $50 to remove that toilet paper.
It's not like leaving a dildo... it's darn toilet paper
Don't pay it, you can challenge that shit - seriously it's a roll of toilet paper if they don't like it, throw it away. Jeezzeeeeee apartment people suck.
no good deed goes unpunished
I can honestly say I would not be upset by finding a fresh roll of toilet paper in my new apartment. one less thing a have to worry about finding in all the boxes.
i would appreciate it.. cuz when ur moving, toilet paper isnt the first thing on your mind....
@57, you're the kind of person that turns good deeds into punishment.
I had a similar situation with an air freshener i left in the window (to give it that new house smell) they fined me $50, but taht wasn't the actual bad part. Because the house was deemed "not clean" they got to keep my deposit.
Argued it and got it all back, but you'll find they are just trying to grab for more of your money.
For all you nay-sayers complaining about not using the left behind toilet roll, do you use toilet rolls at your friends places? you don't know where those have been but i doubt you think more than two seconds about that.
So true Veldan. Sad, yet soo true.
Oh man that sucks soo bad! Aha I really feel your pain.
well , is that mean we all shouldn't even try to be nice? not bad, would love the idea of being a bad bad person. errr
What I continually find hilarious on sites such as this, are the people who place judgement, insult, and lecture other members for speaking their mind about the topic at hand. Apparently its so easy to lose sight of what this thread and any other is actually about.
That sucks

Awesome illustration. :)
OP, sorry about that. The world's not fair, but hopefully you're not discouraged and will continue to be just as thoughtful as before.
no good deed goes unpunished. :-(
This is absurd, I would say: Onlny in America, since here in Europe you wouldn't bill anyone for being thoughtfull.
The house I recently bought, the previous owners left me cleaning aids, toiletpaper and all sorts of goodies (positive ones)
I guess Americans are just weird, not appreciating free stuff.
Aw, that sucks! lol And to average_girl: Kudos on the Wicked reference! That's a fun song :D
FYL! u should call the management first.. i would never pay! its an absurd!
well then screw them! some people are just not grateful.
what the hell! ur just trying to be nice and they FINE you? some people are just so stupid and bitchy!
it's not like u left a big crap in the toilet or something, jeez.
