Today, I got fired from my job at WalMart because I was "too nice" to the customers. Apparently asking people if they found everything they wanted, while checking their groceries is too nice... FML

You can't be fired for "too nice". If so, your supervisor is smoking crack. Threaten to sue for unlawful termination. You will have your job back instantly...if you want it. Ugh

"Too nice" is giving them free stuff, or money out of the till. Asking them if they found what they needed is just good business. Your boss must answer to someone. Take it up with them. They should know that they are employing this moron.

Considering that's company policy to do that, and I do it every day, I highly doubt that. And #1 you can't sue for wrongful termination in all states, some states are right to work states.

Too nice at Walmart generally means you talk too the customers too much and hold up the line. So my 10 years spent there taught me.

I agree with 3&4, my best friend has worked at Walmart for 9 years, and I have been shopping there for 15 and I have yet to not have a cashier ask me if I found everything I was looking for and finish the transaction with a "have a nice day!" Say what you will about the asshats who run the franchise but I've never met an unpleasant employee or heard of anyone getting fired for anything short of theft or laziness. Even the talky ones who slow things down don't usually get fired because they don't get complained about.

I just worked at Walmart and they told me to ask that. So they probably fired you because they don't like you. Sue them for unlawful termination

Wal-Mart is hell. Run away laughing happily.

'Did you find everything, everything you wanted from life? Has your job lived up to its expectations, does your family make you proud? I'm just being polite! Now how does that make you feel?' *takes out notepad*

Hey it could be worse though. I was "fired" from Walmart for continuously not showing up to work even though I had put a 2 weeks notice and quit appropriately 3 months prior to this. But seriously that's a bs excuse to let someone go over. If you desperately need the job I would fight it. But otherwise you're probably better off working somewhere else. Sorry op!

It's literally company policy to say those things, so there was probably some other reason that you just don't know.
