Today, I was polishing a ring I made at a jewelry shop I intern at. The ring flicked off my fingers and smashed me in the eye. It only took a single trip to the emergency room to make me pretty sure I won't be getting the job. FML

Eye protection is usually mandatory when using power machinery especially and including buffing wheels. If OP was told this and failed to do so, it is probably the end of that job and for good reason. Sorry OP, this should be a learning lesson for you. Perhaps the owner/manager will be understanding of OP's mistake. Almost everyone who uses buffer wheels and small objects has had an accident like that - But most without the injury of course. It's part of learning to use the tool properly. But the lapse in basic safety is a big problem.

One ring to rule them all. One ring to find them. One ring to make sure the employer never hires them.

Do you need to have two functioning eyes for the job?

Next time embrace your fate and replace your eye with a sparkly jewel. You will become a formidable and famous pirate known as Tiger's Eye.

And so your dream of becoming a jeweler will remain but a twinkle in your eye. Uh, no offense, OP.

No the twinkle isn't a dream, just a forcefully implanted gem.

Step up your game man, you're better than this.

I demand a follow-up! There are too many questions raised & left unanswered. Are you now a 1-eyed, eye-patch wearing person? Are there little diamond splinters lodged in there? Will you need a seeing-eye guide dog? What would you have named the ring if the incident hadn't happened? So many questions!

You're supposed to ponder those answers, not demand them. Come now.

am I the ONLY one who ABSOLUTELY LOVEz the 'HeadLine' hahahahaha absolutely freaking amazeballz
