Today, while working in a call center at a university, someone threatened to report me to the President of the University because "I" wouldn't accept their daughter who had a 1.5 GPA and "got accepted into Harvard". I don't even make the decisions, I just answer calls. FML
I agree, your life sucks 47 160

latinalocks tells us more.

The parent reported me to my supervisor, my super proceeded to pull the recorded tape of the call and took my side. Faith in humanity restored!

There is no way that kid got accepted into Harvard... Lol too funny.... Let them report you.... Everyone needs a good laugh

This is the culture of mediocrity where everyone deserves Harvard, even the terrible student. Everyone on the team gets a trophy for participation even if they lose, just in case one of them feels sad for losing. EVERYONE loses now and them. The ones who pick themselves up are the winners.

I don't give a damn what her extracurricular activities or club memberships were. Unless she was performing surgeries in the jungle to undeserved orphans by candle light, a gpa that low is not getting into Harvard.

I don't think you can get into any college with a 1.5 lol

Where I live you can't even graduate high school with that GPA.

mansen 15

Wow. My college puts you on academic suspension if you have that low of a gpa. Harvard? Suuurrreeee.

Now I'm mad I didn't go to Harvard. I mean I didn't apply but obviously it isn't that hard if all I needed was a 1.5 GPA.

Why doesn't she go there then? "Being accepted and all". It's an Ivy League school...

Harvard must be desperate...

It's unlikely that her daughter got accepted to Harvard, otherwise, why would she be calling some other university. Perhaps she meant Haverford? If you say it fast, it sound just like Harvard.

Uhhh I think you need to read the post again... She has a GPA of 1.5 with that she could get into ANY college probably with full scholarship

oh thats a good one. ..Harvard. ...

Yah I'm sure the parent had the same gpa when he was in school XD

Harvard is an Ivy League school. There is NO POSSIBLE WAY to get into Harvard with a 1.5 GPA. Come on, 112.

#112 is smarter than all of us... best use of a Legally Blonde quote I've seen yet.

How else are we supposed to protect the children's self of steam, Doc?

@schizomaniac not sure if that was intended or if that just exemplifies the point here

I'm just glad someone finally said this..run for president Doc

it's been said before... but it's a tough issue. it always causes controversy to define certain people as better than other people [at something], even when it's completely true and factual.

"sense of steam"is what keeps you going and propels you forward. It is especially important in steam powered locomotives and jet propulsion. Well at least i tried, #20.

You know, a lot of people say that this generation is entitled because "everyone gets a trophy for participating so they don't feel bad" but I think that in a way, the opposite is true. Yes everyone gets a trophy for participating but kids are not stupid. They can tell that some kids didn't deserve to get trophies because they suck. They can tell that its not fair that kids who worked so much harder and were so much better got awarded in the exact same way as the kids who hardly did anything. And I think that, more than anything, that teaches kids to doubt any praise or awards they get because they have no way of knowing whether the praise is warranted or if it's just being said to make them feel better. It kind of reminds me of that scene in the Incredibles when the mother said that everyone's special and Dash replied "that's just another way of saying nobody is". Sorry for going on but I always think of this whenever I see people say that this generation is entitled for that reason.

As a kid I always got participation awards and felt like a piece of total shit once I realized that everyone else got one. For a brief moment I felt successful, then I looked around and felt deceived. TL;DR Even kids hate participation awards

Doc I agree run for president, but you have to go by Docbastard to let us know it's really you. Like sneakily say DocBastard 2016, after a speech or something. And then say your real name 2016 even louder to throw people off. boom fool proof plan. Just like Murr's fool proof plans in Impractical Jokers.:D

cryssycakesx3 22

1up for impractical jokers.

Run for president of what exactly? If you mean president of a country, I don't think I'd qualify. I'm too honest.

Some people don't know what to say to cover their stupidity.

"I'm sorry" is always a good choice.

no way "legally blonde" got into Harvard........oh wait....... it can happen lol

ZY1431 24

legally blond I dont think can save this one...

Whatever! Elle Woods had an exceptional GPA, high LSAT scores and accomplished extracurriculars.

Elle Woods worked her butt of to get the marks and credentials she needed to get into Harvard. She didn't just waltz in there because her Mommy threw a hissy fit.

5, if it happened in a movie it must happen in real life...

They probably won't report you. And if they do, they'll just look dumb anyway.

People are thickYou cant do anything about that

I would love to know what happens if they do manage to successfully report you - I'm sure the President in question has a lot of time for these occurrences... not.

People are idiots and believe they deserve the world.

can you slap someone through the phone?

Show it anyway

and if you went to Harvard like everyone else, you'd understand what sarcasm is.

RedPillSucks 31

I'm so confused. I thought #89's comment was sarcasm too... I guess that's why I didn't get into Harvard. (Proud Haverford graduate)
