Today, marks my third day of school being closed due to snow. One, and only one, of the teachers has decided that we have to do work online in the meantime. I just so happen to be in three of his classes. FML

just pretend your power went out?

Damn that's just horrible luck. Good luck with your assignments though.

Well at least it's not actual book work. I prefer doing work online

67- You must not be a very good reader...

Make sure you dont send it by email then.

Say you sent it from your phone, which has about 15% battery left and will promptly die soon. Now you're golden

Then the teacher is going to be like, " You could have went to the local library (which has computers) or something." Either way that's OP's grade going down for not just doing the work.

I'm in Dallas right now, and we are not used to snow at all. We just had a snow storm that has been turning to ice overnight. There were literally cars skidding all over the road, the weight of ice knocking down trees and patios, and a lot of accidents. The city urged us to stay OFF the road. So this excuse could work....

Wah, I hate my teacher for doing his job!

It's different when only ONE teacher is like this, and then you have him for a bunch of classes. It'd be different if most/all the teachers made assignments.

9 - I'm curious what you find "ignorant" about that comment.

you may want to refresh yourself on the definition of ignorance and try again.

Awe that sucks!! Just what Everyone wants to do when school is closed!! (Wink wink)

Don't complain, schools have to make up for the closed school days and extend the winter quarter longer. At least this way you'll stay caught up and probably be able to finish on time as originally scheduled.

It shouldn't have to be a problem.... if it weren't for all those standards that leave little room for actual learning!

Depends on the school division, some already have more than the required minimum in class hours and don't have to make up lost snow days. On a mild winter mine would have a couple "study days" before exams after all the lessons were done.

they add a few extra days at the end of the year but they'll take away vacation days first(MLK day, shorter Christmas/Easter break) so the days don't have to be made up at the end of the year.

My make up days at the end of the school year were usually spent watching movies. Teachers would rather not be there either.

"Professor, my dog ate my online homework." Seems legit.

Well, school is technically still in session, right?

Whenever my school had numerous days off, we had to make up for when school ended. Maybe this will avoid you having to do that.

Some teachers live to make sure no one has a happy life.

Yeah, they sure screwed my entire life up by ensuring that I passed my exams with flying colors. I had a self-professed "anal" professor who worked her students to near-exhaustion. She was strict, over-bearing, and lied about her exams. She was honestly the best professor I've ever had.

I'm pretty sure that there aren't teachers that do their job just to make sure "no one has a happy life"

I can only think of one teacher who lives to make students miserable. That's my Spanish teacher who told us she hates teenagers, being asked questions, teaching and Spanish. Other than that, no. Teachers do not live to make students miserable.
