That's not how that works

By christiner - 06/09/2010 03:01 - France

Today, I was at work and was confronted by a customer wanting to get a "Nemo" fish. I explained that 'Nemo' needs to live in saltwater, not freshwater, like their tank was. The customer then turns around and grabs a perforated tank divider and says, "Can't I just split them up with this?" FML

What's not to get? A perforated tank divider is a fish tank divider with holes in it, thus defeating the purpose of separating different kinds of water. They're used to separate fish that would usually fight each other. Since water molecules are obviously a lot smaller than fish, they would get through the holes. Personally, I wouldn't want to sell anyone an animal if they didn't know the name of it. I think there's actually something that says pet store employees can refuse selling an animal if the person wanting to make a purchase seems incompetent enough, because it would result in the death of the pet.

you're* not your. yes I'm a grammar nazi, and yes you people should learn proper english

zanesaurus 0

F*** anti flood. But honestly this guy was obviously stupid.

what a tragedy. your life is ******. you'll be scarred forever because you met someone who doesn't know about fish.

people are dumb; being in a CSR job they will never ceae to amaze you with their stupidity.

Proper English includes proper capitalization.

number one reminds me of rocky from that movie mask.

thumbs dns is fer tards. whet u mad?

@25 - if you want to be a grammar Nazi, learn to use proper punctuation or shut the hell up. It's the internet not a damn English essay.

I don't see how this f*s ur life, the customer should be the one writing on here on how stupid he/she is

A random person asked you a bunch of stupid questions, and your life is ******? If that's as bad as it gets for you, well, then lucky you lol.

if something is perforated it has holes in it, thus defeating the purpose of dividing water as water can/will travel through said perforations. ~

25, let's leave being a grammar Nazi to FFML_314 and her friends. ( I don't try because I have terrible grammar. )

This is not an FML.. why are most of them sucking today? haha.

This isn't an FML, more like an MLIA! =D

This isn't an FML, hop on over to notalwaysright. Move along, there's nothing to see here...

FFML_314 11

Me and muh crew, yo. We know how to throw down with dem spellin words and such.

It's not their life that's ******, it's the fish's. The dumbass that got the fish is obviously going to end up killing it.

noobgang7 5

Woah, moderated for saying MLIA?

if you can't handle questions like these then you need a new job.

Not a logical question, but valid yes... These are the kinds of questions you have to deal with when you work at a fish store, people are generally uneducated on your subject of expertise, or in general ...seriously, it's not really an FML, it's a REO (random everyday occurrence)

FFML_314 11

I hope it was a much needed slap in the face.

It was obviously yes, customer must have had osmosis/diffusion on the brain

Boy did he really wanted a Nemo fish.. to die.

ZOMBlE 0

I hereby second the motion for a justified slapping of a bitch. All in favor

122 I must say, your picture is awesome.

I agree as long as that both is either the customer or George bush.

Op had to talk to a dumb person and considers that an FML? What the Hell's he doing on the internet???

way to go number 9!! holy s ur the only conceivable dipsht capable of understanding perforation, except by muscle memory( ie all ur stinkin credit card applications). btw kiss all are asses fur explaining dotts separated by paper, wow rnt u cool. im 12 and i dont even.

If you want a salt water and fresh water, you realy need two seperate tanks. it's pobably more or less impossible to make a tank both. Something tells me that if they still call Clownfish 'Nemo' then they wouldn't even know how to look after the £40+ fish anyway.

I completely agree with #17, and thank your clarification.

don't worry 113 I got you. what 109 really said was "I'm a stupid idiot that never learned to spell, or type, and I think he is 12

Your right. Pet store employees can reuse sale. I work at PetSmart and have refused the sale for fish countless times. Due to either the tank being to small, to many fish in the tank, the animals being used for food or if the water in the tank can not support the fish (if they brought the water into be tested at the same time) That being said I found this hillarious! but not a FML.

TheZarola 10

"Being used for food" is a stupid reason to refuse. Some animals eat other animals. If you don't let customers buy the animals for food, how are certain pets supposed to get food? Ass.

artiegleek 0

way to go. I thought they taught kids how to spell in 6th grade

amazing song:) haha noodle from gorillaz!!! XP DARE awesomeee!!! hahaha

why are you using such bad language if you're only 12?

I have that problem when I need to feed my snake guniea pigs.

infernno 23

Learn how to spell, kid, or get off the app. Nobody wants to see your immature crap.

infernno 23

That was at 109 by the way. Not the original comment.

anaisnin 0

how do I not get that, the divider is perforated, meaning the water would mix and defeat the purpose for which the customer would be using it for.

sillybabee 3

The word "perforated" essentially means something has a small hole or a series of holes in it.

hairt 4

some girls with huge boobs only have brains the size of a peanut. hence, they do not understand this simple FML. I wonder, if we asked them what is (4x5) - (4x4) they would be like " uhm.. *******??"

Lol and you really think everyones going to think that's really you :). And FYL for having to serve idiots :)

I have big breasts and I'm pretty smart, everyone knows blonde hair is the identifying mark of a dumb person. Jeez wheres your logic?

especially half the people on here that don't even get the fml
