Okay, why would you move just because you hear sirens? Here you start moving when you actually see them, because otherwise you have no idea where they are coming from and where they are going and you are just an idiot trying to switch lanes for no good reason. And possibly making the traffic worse. As you did, as we can see.

I'm pretty sure the radio stations aren't allowed to play songs with siren sounds for that particular reason. So it was probably a cd or iPod, in which case, you deserved it because you should know those songs.

Actually I listen to the radio almost everyday and there's a song that plays constantly with police sirens in it. While I've never rear ended someone I always think the same thing as OP and look around for a police car

I hear police sirens for the Jimmy Johns commercial on the radio all the time. Gives me a panic attack every time too haha

I've always thought that horn sounds and sirens shouldn't be allowed in radio ads. It's way too distracting to drivers.
