Today, while driving down the high way my tire exploded and tore off my rear bumper; I just replaced all my tires a week ago. FML

Looks like a warranty repair is in order for you, my friend.

it sounds like they were over filled. I would check the tire pressure on all of them just in case!

Under filling would cause rapid heat up as well.

yes but normally over a long time. if he's just driving home from a shop, I doubt it's long enough to cause them to burst. it's a possibility though

Being overfilled, they are likely to pop over a bump, being underfilled, they weaken over time and then burst due to friction build up. Check pressure in the others. Usually should be sitting around 32 for a normal size car

they could have been rethreaded tires also which are usually weaker so a liitle too much pressure could have caused it

my tire exploded on the freeway after having the pressure fixed 5 minute before, had to switch lanes list the flashers and get to a safe spot right before it cut off then my phone died.. I was stuck for half an hour until highway patrol came.. my 6 month old was with me and my wife

Time to contact the shop to see what they can do for you as that could be quite the hefty repair to your vehicle. If the tires were brand new and only a week old, they should repair your vehicle along with replacing the tire (and possibly the rim depending on the damage done from hitting the road).
