Today, I got dressed up for the first time in days to go have sushi with a friend. When I walked out to my car, I noticed that the passenger window was shattered and the car robbed. What's worse is I'd forgotten to lock the side doors anyway. FML

What's worse than their luck is the way this FML is written. The beginning --"getting dressed up for the first time in days"-- and the end-- their car getting broken into-- have nothing to do with each other. The beginning could have been left out.

I think his point about not going anywhere for days is part of the FML because his car was unlocked for three days. And also the break in could have happened on day one. If OP had a life, and left his house more often, the car might not have been broken into in the first place.

yesss lmao. theres usually not much worth taking in most cars. if it were me, there would have been a dump on the driver seat, or just smeared on the back of the steering wheel to cheer you up when you go to drive it. on a side note though, i wonder if op really did forget to lock the door, or the thief just left it unlocked after.
