OP wut exactly is so wrong with ur car that u want a new one? u got a freakin honda, those japanese soda cans last a lifetime. I got a freaking VW GLI that had its valves bent within its first 3 months and i'm keeping that bitch till the day it dies. Be glad you have a car, at least you're not stuck with public transportation, then i'd feel bad for you cuz i've seen stuff on a bus that no teenager should ever see. just take your car to a mecanic, that is something you should've done before buying your car and to the people telling OP to get a job, ya'll need to think, he's only 17, the job market right now won't even employ people with a full blown college degree, give this spoiled brat a break.
FYL, because getting free stuff can never be good. Also, your Honda will last you as long as you want. Mine was still alive after getting water in a cylinder and putting 6 holes in the engine block.
go kill urself u selfish little prick
Oh, how nice - your 'rents got you a car! Maybe they should have taught you to say 'thank you' and not to look a gift horse in the mouth. If it runs, you don't need a better one. Just be glad you have wheels; my parents made it very clear that if I wanted a car I would have to pay for it and the insurance myself, and I agree with them that it should be my responsability. If I'm old enough to drive, I'm old enough to get a job to buy my own car. And I don't know about you, but I was taught to be grateful for whatever gifts I receive. They didn't have to get you anything, you know.
Your "old" car is probably only about a year old since it's your 17th birthday. You can't get your permit until you're 16 and you can't get your license until you're 16.5. Your deserve to get a book since you don't NEED a new car, you spoiled little brat. Do you know how lucky you are to even HAVE a car as a teenager?
congratulations OP your story prompted me to take the 15minutes out of my life to create an account, validate it and then post this. you are the recipient of my first ever post. I'm 19 and like many young people, I have no car. I rely on trains, buses and lifts from friends to get around. I would love a car but uni fees and cost of living and renting a house makes money tight. I'm not going to hurl abuse at you, that's been done already in this topic. what I will say is maybe you should think about how lucky you are to have ANY car at 17. If my parents bought me a car I would not then be disappointed if for my next birthday they didn't upgrade the car. maybe instead of posting your disappointment here you should be grateful for what you have
Like several other people, you're FML inspired me to create an account just so I could comment. I'm seventeen. For my seventeenth birthday, I got $50 from my parents. They've never bought me a car, and I have to pay for my insurance. Stop being a spoiled brat. You have a car that runs. Stop being lazy and get a job so that you can buy your own car, maybe?
While man, you are a spoiled brat. You should consider yourself lucky to have a car at all at age 17. Two of my roommate who are college seniors still don't have a car. How about you get a job, and pay for repairs to your car. If the car still runs, you don't need a newer car. I didn't get my car until I was 20, and I had to pay half of the $5000 for my car, and I pay the insurance and the bills for maintenance on it. I'm not wanting a newer car. It gives me a sense of pride to pay to fix any problems I have with my car.
Part of the "New account " Brigade. I bought my first car from a junkyard, and spent hours and hours just getting the damn thing to run, all the while working at a shitty convenience store to get the money for parts. And even the ones I got were already old. But you want a shiny new car don't you? Well too fricken bad. i don't care if my car is a junker, Like ghostychi, I get pride from fixing everything myself, and my friends respect me because of it. You want a new car? Earn it!
New Account here as well.... here to tell you that getting a car at 16, or any other age for that matter is not a right, but a privilege. Something you are fortunate enough to have. yeah, sure it's a clunker, but with a lot of TLC, you might actually find that it's a diamond in the rough. But if that's too much work for you, then i suggest you get off your behind and WORK for what you want.... And FYI re: the photography book.... it IS a hint for you... to look around and see that there are more important things in life than a new car.

Wahhhhhh. So let me guess, your parents have already bought you a car last year and you want another one? Do you really think money grows on trees? Buy your own car, mooch.
You sound spoilt. You're 17 and own a car, you should be happy enough.
