Today, while in a parking lot, I accidentally cut someone off out of pure nervousness as I'm a new driver. I got out of my car to apologize, and they responded by beating me and my car to a pulp with a baseball bat. FML

Today, I was driving around a parking lot, looking for an empty spot. Someone was backing out a bit too quickly as I was about to pass by, so I honked to announce myself. The driver instead panicked and reversed into my front bumper. FML

Today, as I was sitting in my car in a mall parking lot, an old couple got into their new van and backed right into me. The man got out and in broken english decided it was no big deal. He turned to leave and tried to pat my back, but smacked my ass instead. I was hit by a car, and spanked for it. FML

Today, while driving into work, a guy cut me off and I yelled some nasty things out of my window at him. He heard me, followed me to work, took a baseball bat out and then chased me into the office. He also smashed my windshield on his way out. FML

Today, I parked my car on the street late at night, when I was distracted by a text message. Some guy then gets in my passenger side. Panicked, thinking I was being robbed, I bolt out of my car bruising my head and dropping my phone onto the pavement. The guy meant to get in the car behind me. FML

Today, I was driving when a couple flipped the bird on me before cutting me off, so I flipped them off back. After they'd got away, another driver thought I'd actually been flipping him off and followed me into a parking lot. This guy was huge, and let’s just say he didn’t give me a chance to explain myself. FML

Today, I decided to be a good driver and not run through the yellow light. As soon as I stopped my car another came and rear-ended me. The guy told me to go in the parking lot so we can exchange information. So I drove into the parking lot, I turned my head and watched him drive away. FML

I kept one in my car when I was working in news. We had a lot of break ins and muggings in the parking lot. And walking to and from my car in the middle of the night solo just seemed stupid.

They probably thought you were a carjacker. In this context, getting out of your car is an inappropriately aggressive move. Stick to Uber and buses until you learn road etiquette.

I'm sorry to hear OP. One time on my way to Chick Fil A, I realised that I parked in the 3-5 minute pick up spot. There was an SUV behind me just standing in the middle of the road/parking lot. I waited for a bit but the person just had their emergency lights on and not moving or anything. Finally, I got out of my space and moved to the closest spot available. As I parked, the person started honking but I ignored it cause I didn't see anything except for them parking up front, closer to the stores. I am gathering all my things to go eat and when I get out, this lady gets out of her SUV. She starts throwing hands and cussing at me about how I stole her spot after I parked in the wrong place. I said I am sorry, I didn't know she was going to park there and calling me a dumbass and racist. Finally, she went somewhere but I made sure to take her license plate and eat where I can see both cars. I am sorry you had to experience that because some drivers are just too aggressive
