Today, I was home on leave and having breakfast with my parents and my younger brothers. I guess I got too used to the rougher language around the Army barracks where I'm stationed. At the breakfast table I asked my Mom to "pass me the f***ing butter". FML

there's the dif between marines and army we know when to shut our mouths and have manners and when to open them. don't blame the army for you being lazy and rude

I'm sorry, what? That may be the case, but you got to remember that many people who got back from deployment have trouble readjusting to society after spending months or years away from home. While you are at the location stationed, you tend to pick up habits that stay with you because that's what you do there. Once you get back home, those habits are hard to break and takes time to adjust yourself to society. That is the case with the op. It's not the matter that the op is rude or lazy because he curses, it's it because he has a habit that he has gotten used to while he was stationed at his base...

Unless your parents are super conservative, this really isn't an FML at all. It's kinda funny, to be honest. By the way, thanks for serving! :D
