Last time I checked, a 'pub' isn't a body part. You learn how to sound things out and learn what letters make what sounds in early grade school. Your post isn't the first I've seen putting 'pubs' instead of 'pubes'. If you were talking about a tube, would you write 'tub'? No? Then why would you for pubes?
