Today, I found out my bank account was in the negative because my work gave me a check that didn't clear. I went to my bank to get a statement of charges so my job could reimburse me. They told me requesting a statement costs 8 dollars, which I don't have because my account is in the negative. FML

o.o I've never had a problem with them. Assumptions "sucking" suck.

You don't have 8 bucks in your wallet. That's a little sad and YDI for keeping it ALL in the bank.

wow that really does suck and that sounds like a load of horse shit fyl

Because he shouldn't be putting all of his money in the bank, he has to have some money with him. I mean really,he doesn't have 8 bucks??

Lend the money. There must be someone in your life to lend you 8 dollars.

25- some people, like myself, rarely carry any cash on their person.

I know right? correct me if I am wrong but this sounds really unlikely

I don't have $8 in cash right now. I rarely have any cash except my laundry change.

I haven't found it to be that uncommon. I rarely use federal reserve notes since everywhere I go accepts Visa. I've worked as a cashier and had quite a few customers get caught when their credit card wasn't working and they had no other way to pay. One good thing about paying with cash is you notice how quickly you are spending your money.

Agree with ^. Credit/check/bank cards are so much more convient than counting cash that it's actually getting very common to see people just putting it all in the bank. It's also much safer. Good luch drying off a 50 after you drop it in a puddle. And have fun getting back the money you left on the bus. With a credit card, just pay a few bucks penalty and get a new card. You'll make the penalty back in intrest eventually anyway.

#47, bills are made of cotton and linen, not paper, abd therefore dry quite nicely. Have you ever even gotten a bill wet?

Yes, and it doesn't turn out very well actually. You're absolutely right about the cotton thing, but soggy bills tend to stick together very snugly, and it tears much much easier. You're right, but I feel the need to sound like I know what I'm talking about. :P

The problem is op doesn't have $8 at all. Have some of you ppl never heard of saving ffs

Don't bank with Regions. They sent my checks, debit card, and statement with both account numbers to an address I have never lived at, and most certainly did NOT specify on the paperwork. Oh and since no one lives there now (thank god it's not already sold to a new owner), it sat in the mailbox for like two weeks. AND, the mailbox fell over revealing the easily recognizable check box. -_-

my account is in the negatives but that's because someone stole my check card and spent over $500.

"tinaburrito" just borrow $8 from a family member or from a friend. And if no such luck ask your workplace to give you $8 since their the main cause for that negative balance.

If the OP's paycheck is bouncing, $8 may very well be out of her range. But didn't the bank send you a letter stating that your account was overdrawn or that a check had bounced? I believe they are required to by law.

Come to Canada, we have way better banks.

Banks in Canada suck just as much. I just had to pay $40 to cancel a cheque I wrote that was worth only $30, because the bank where the receiver deposited the cheque lost it.

why wouldn't you just not cancel the cheque and save yourself the ten bucks
