But why? Unless you specifically bought a diesel vehicle, why would you ever put anything but unleaded or premium? Well, you're engine is effed. That sucks, but also YDI...
Obviously not the case in Canada but here the nozzle for diesel is larger so that it doesn't fit in the standard size opening. Also, did you not notice the car running rough before even leaving the gas station?
This is not the case in Canada, and is actually a pretty good idea. But I still don't see how they could mess up this bad because our diesel pumps are clearly labelled, they're bright yellow and have big bold printing, so people know it's diesel.
I've made this mistake by filling a truck up using the correct pump and it having diesel in it. Fortunately I was filling an old carbureted truck and didn't put much in the tank. This actually happens a lot more than you think people pull up to the wrong pump or they just arnt paying attention.
YDI
Where is the YDI button when you need it most?
Ive now resorted to not pressing either buttons if its a ydi, which has become quite frequent now
The diesel nozzle doesn't even fit into a standard size gas car. How is this fml even possible ?
