Today, the blinker on my car was broken so I decided to play it safe and drive a different car to work. I guess it wouldn’t have mattered which car I drove, as the cop nicely told me one of the headlights was out when he pulled me over. FML

maintenance has nothing to do with it, these lights go out at any point.

I was once pulled over by a cop who had a headlight out. They check before each shift. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If you keep up on maintenance and pay attention to your vehicles, that doesn't happen. You totally deserved it.

Bad luck op, but tip for future - check the lights when you get into your car.

holla at me. let's start a friendship.

Why wouldnt you just drive the car with no blinker to a parts store and take the 2 minutes it would to replace the bulb? Most people dont even use blinkers anyway

Well, let’s put it this way: on my car (a 2004 VW) it requires removing the engine cover to get at the driver side lights, and removing the air intake to get at the passenger lights, both of which require tools to do. My parents car requires pulling the front of the car about 6 inches out from the body to get at the lights at all. This requires about 3 hours at a fully stocked mechanic’s shop.

It’s not a moving violation, the cop just gives a repair order. No fine or points

Not working lightbulbs IS a ticketable offense.

Jeez - first world problems much? My car had a minor defect, so I used one of the other I have... Really? I think you can afford the repairs and any fine. Grow up.

You need to constantly check and refill your blinker and headlights fluids! Safety first!
