Today, while working on a carpentry project with my friend at 2am, and enjoying some beers, I cut my hand and realized I needed medical attention. Neither of us being in driving shape, I knocked on my parents bedroom door to request a ride. I was told I had to wait for them to "finish." FML

Damn, You guys are harsh. I am 20 so not technically old enough to drink, I am from the North, Asshole, and it was a legitimate accident, not involving power tools, or due to the alcohol, it just simply was not a smart decision to drink. Also, I was home from college. ******* A.

At first I was just going to call you a moron, but after reading that parents thing... Your night couldn't get any worse.

#8 Being old enough to drink does not necessarily mean being too old to live with the parents.

#8 He never said he lived at their house. Maybe he was just doing them a favor.

I guess getting laid is more important than your injury. FYL

based on the fact that you said you were in no shape to drive, i'm going to guess that yes, it was due to the alcohol.

I still say you deserve it... doing carpentry work and drinking is worse than drinking and driving.. at least in my eyes

Either way drinking and working with power tools at 2am isn't very smart.

If you're only 20 you shouldn't be drinking. Frankly, I don't think the fact you were a year off is that bad, but still not ok if something like that could happen. Also, if you are using tools were a mistake could be made, it's not smart to drink, especially to the point that you can't drive. However, you did ask someone else to take you, and the "Wait 'till we finish thing" wasn't your fault. Still, YDI.

At least you knew not to attempt to drive.

Asshole you shouldn't have been f*cking drinking if you were underaged you dick

#55 in Oklahoma it's illegal for a child under the age of 21 to drink as long as they're at least like 12 I think and under their parents roof... The vast majority of teenage drinkers I know drink outside of the house because their parents forbid them too, just to prove they can do what they want. I never had to go to drunken parties cause if I wanted a beer all I had to do was ask, and before you make any accusations 1) I'm not an alcoholic and 2) my parental figures did that on purpose for my good, not cause they didn't give a shit about me.

Legal* not illegal. also tagging #58 in the previous comment. I find it horrendous that people agree with the legal implication that I'm old and responsible enough to volunteer or be forced to take a bullet for my country at 17 or 18, and carry a gun to defend it on a daily basis but I'm not responsible enough to have a drink til 3 years later.

For all the jerks automatically assuming that he was to drunk to drive he could have not been in shape to drive because of the injury

Don't listen to them OP, you didn't get drunk, you only had some beers to drink, and that was an accident because my dad does carpentry and gets hurt too
