Today, my grandmother called. She greeted me by my mother's name. When I told her it was not my mother, she apologized and corrected herself, but this time she addressed me as my sister. When I told her it was not my sister either, she said "Sorry, wrong number" and hung up. FML

Maybe you should have tried telling her who you were, instead of who you weren't. Doesn't mean your granny has a sucky memory.

i agree with #8. if i were to call someone's home, and ask for two different people, and all i'm told is "no" i will assume that its the wrong number. only if you said "no grandma, mom isn't. no grandma, she isn't here either," then u can say your grandma forgot you even existed, or maybe just didn't want to talk to you.

Pretty sure it does lol I'm one of 14 grand children and my nana could tell who I am on the phone...

Sound's like Grandma is getting on in years and is experiencing a few Senior Moments. Bear with her, the one you know and love is in there somewhere. Oh... BTW, your turn will come all too soon too.

Thaaat just sounds like Alzheimer's in progress...

My mother and I sound so alike on the phone our respective husbands can't tell us apart. This can be used to your advantage. (Christmas and Birthdays anyone)

The Alzheimer thing may be right, also she may have been busy. They have found a connection between Alzheimer and diabetes and are working on ways to deal with it better http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2007/09/070926113835.htm

Don't be too hard on her, as the saying goes-"We go from diapers to diapers" or something of that sort.

I agree with #20 if you told her who you were. If you didn't say your name, then could have thought that she actually dialed a wrong number. Grandparents are a bit loopy like that
