Today, being the nice grandchild that I am, I went to visit my grandmother. She didn't recognise who I was. I thought she was joking. She later called the police as, "Some weirdo had walked into her house." I'm that weirdo; she wasn't joking. FML

Today, I had to cancel my plans to go see my grandma, because I wasn't feeling too well. I called her to apologize, but she had trouble remembering who I was. When I told her my name, she said "Oh, the FAT one." Yes grandma, the fat one. FML

Today, I went to see my grandmother. She has alzheimers and doesn't remember me sometimes, and today she thought I was her sister and that I was trying to steal my grandfather from her. She hit me with a cane and called me a slut. FML

Today, I visited my grandmother who has dementia. She thought I was my father, and told me that I should never have married my mother, let alone have had children with her. FML

Today, I decided to surprise-visit my grandparents. After knocking on the door and not getting a response, I opened it and walked in. Upon entering their house and yelling, "Hello", as I turned the corner I saw my near-deaf grandmother folding clothes while watching TV. She was topless. FML

Today, while waiting for my grandmother at the train station, a girl walked out and climbed into my car. When I cleared my throat to tell her of her mistake, she screamed and ran out as if I was a criminal trying to abduct her. FML

That's awful, my grandmother had alzheimer's and stopped being able to recognize me at one point, it broke my heart.

How ridiculous. You say it in a "Oh it's a fact of life so deal with it" kind of tone. So people are not allowed to have an emotional response to their grandparents forgetting who they are? You probably are one of those absurdist people who think there is no purpose to life as eventually everyone dies. Have you no feelings?

It doesn't HAVE to be Alzheimer's. Sometimes it's as simple as vitamins or a change in diet. It should be checked. Get her to a Dr that specializes in that kind of stuff ASAP.
