Today, due to a flat tire, I only had 20 minutes to complete a 35 minute walk to catch my train. I ended up sprinting up the snow-covered frozen hill in heels, luggage in hand, only to arrive 1 minute in time, and to find out that the train had been cancelled. Next train in 1 hour. FML

KK3137 tells us more.

Actually, I'm 5 foot 1, so that explains the heels, and my brother was supposed to drive me, which is why I set out later in the first place.

The bad news is that you don't have a spare tire for your car. The good news is that running in the snow with luggage means you don't have a spare tire around your waist.

She had a car before though, she probably didn't plan on walking more than a few feet to get on and off the train.

The first comment is not always a sorry. Just occasionally.

The first comment is usually somebody trying to say "first!!!!" without actually saying it. We get a lot of "nice" and "that sucks" and in this case, an apology.

Enlighten me please, what is the big deal about being first commenter? Don't really get it...

The fame!! Internet fame is priceless!

82- in the wise words of Reese Bobby " if ya ain't first you're last"

It's the 'sprinting for essentially no good reason' that sucks, not the wait.

I dunno, I'd be pretty pissed if I had to wait an hour. It's not the worst wait but it's still pretty long. Also, seeing as OP decided to run, in heels, in snow, I'm assuming the first train was pretty important. She could have had an interview or important meeting or something.

You have disappointed the Gods of Puns! However, since you have always delivered excellent puns in the past, they will excuse your poor pun this one time. Just don't let it happen again! The Gods of Puns will not tolerate repeat offenses!

Not sure why this is thumbed down, I guess ill explain it as I understood it, in a double sentence. "Are U insane?" Since the fml is a girl who runs twenty minutes through the snow in heels while carrying luggage. "Are Usain?" An Olympic sprinter, since the fml is about running.

32 - We didn't have a problem understanding it, we just didn't find a funny.

I found a funny! You have to search a little, but there is definitely at least one funny.

I think most people just didn't understand it

36- to be honest, I didn't get it. :(

It's okay Pleonasm I'll cover your back... *tries to think of a quick pun* "there-snow way you guys should be beating on-" dammit, I lost my train of thought.

Oh okay, sorry 62 (and the guys who upthumbed you).

So, let me get this straight. You knew it was snowing out. You wore heels anyway. Yeah, YDI but FYL too. Perhaps next time you'll wear proper shoes in the snow and keep your heels in your bag so that you don't have to run in the snow.

OP had no idea of knowing she'd get a flat tire in the snow so it's a total FYL. Maybe this can be a lesson to us all to have a spare pair of sneakers in our cars just in case.

Some of us aren't even quite five feet tall. If we didn't live our lives in high heels, we would never be seen! :)

Wow I read 6's about me thing and you seem like a lovely person to be around...

Agreed. 6 is a special type of grown up. 'Get over it'.

I don't understand why you got so many negative comments! Truth you spoke.

At least you're there and on time now. You'll get a good seat on the next train.

Yep, Just keep telling yourself-- "I think I can, I think I can"

#26, it's French, so I think it's "Je pense que je peux. Je pense que je peux." Perhaps someone with a better grasp of French will fix this if I'm wrong. (In French, not only do they have Grammar Nazis, they have Grammar collaborators!)

Don't worry Perdix, it's perfectly fine.

I wonder what was so urgent that you didn't just walk normally and catch the next train.

Interview, an important appointment, meeting with someone she hasn't met with in a long time? Either way, it was important. It doesn't matter what it was.

So I'm guessing taxis aren't an option in your city?

Correct you are. Taxis are absolutely no option, I live in a small town close to another small town close to a suburb of Paris, there are only about 3 taxis in that other town, and I don't recall ever having seen one in my town. We usually take buses and trains, but on rare days in winter the buses simply cannot get up the frozen hills because they don't have winter tires (we only get 3-7 days of full frost per year, wouldn't be worth the money for the tires), thus cancelling the bus lines for that day. My train was on one such day.

I hope you don't miss anything else important because of that. I hate having to run for the bus. However, heels? I'm guessing you had no idea you would be walking, right?
