Dream proposal

Today, I proposed to my girlfriend, whom I'm madly in love with, by having a plane fly over her house spelling "Marry me Abby?" After seeing it, she locked herself in her room and cried for hours, exclaiming that this wasn't how she wanted to be proposed to. I'd invited my entire family. FML

I've only known one other person who had a fiance who bitched about the WAY her boyfriend proposed. She turned out to be insane, and they ended up splitting up. If she's seriously going to cry because you didn't propose how she wanted you to, it's time to break up.

just a guess...but maybe it's because you invited your WHOLE family. really think it through, it's supposed to be a special moment. I wouldn't want my girlfriends little brother or sister or mom or dad or whatever to be their during a proposal..

256, I have a small family, just my dad, mom, brother, and i. that's it. my girlfriend is really close to them, so maybe if the OP was having a bunch of people over as a sort of family get together thing and invited the girlfriend as well

Run away man. That's a pretty spectacular way of proposing. It really is. And if she can't accept that then she obviously never outgrew playing with Barbies. I would seriously question whether she loves you or she loves the role you fill in her fantasy of what she wants her life to be like. She will never be happy until she understands that life isn't a fantasty world and until that happens you won't be happy either. So you might as well just get out now and look for someone who loves you for you.
