Today, my girlfriend and I were making fun of a photo album on Facebook containing pictures of two friends who just got engaged. I jokingly asked her to marry me. She said yes. We have been dating for two months. She's not in on the joke. FML

I'm gonna say this isn't your fault. I jokingly asked my girlfriend to marry me a lot when we first started dating, and she'd know it was a joke. She still knows that while I would marry her, my proposals are all jokes. Your girlfriend is just creepy D: RUN FOR YOUR ******* LIFE! Change your name, get surgery, and move as far away from her as possible.. THEN send her an untraceable letter telling her it's over. I don't think it's safe to tell her in person.

Well, this is a good example of why you don't say things you don't mean, or make it VERY obvious you're joking. Oh well, just be one of those couples that's engaged forever or something. Or, tell her now rather than later when she's been led to believe for longer. Though that is rather clingy on her part.

Syedlink - Thanks. But I like to think there's room for a voice of reason everywhere, if that makes me sound like a mother, then so be it. I can live with that. And tbf, it amuses me too, however there is a point when it gets annoying. RedPill - I don't understand the 'bun' in that sentence, the rest I get after a quick trip to Urban Dictionary. Or do I not want to know? :P

I think Cinn's reasonable balanced views make a nice change from some of the utter garbage that goes on here. Inevitably, that's going to draw some flack. I'm impressed she's managed to keep a level head, as even I've found myself slipping into trolling every once in a while in exasperation. If her voice of reason sounds like your mother, then be thankful that your Mom is a sensible person, rather than giving Cinn stick. Still - I'm pretty sure she can take a joke, provided you smile when you say it.
