Own it

Today, I allowed my five-year old daughter to paint my fingernails during a living-room "picnic" we were having. A while later I got called back in to work for an emergency meeting. When I arrived at the meeting I noticed my fingernails were still neon-green. I am a 40-year old man. FML

You have a five year old daughter. That immediately exempts you from being called gay or unmanly. You're not gay/unmanly because you have neon-green fingernails. You're a parent of a five year old daughter. Cheer up, it's not THAT bad.

Hey, it means you participate in your kid's life. Good for you, eff anyone who would say otherwise.

Show it anyway

My dad was older than 40 when I was 5. Some people do have older siblings top, like how my brother is 10 years older than me.

when I was born, my dad was 36. but I have a sister that's 11 yes older than me

@273...not everyones parents were in high school when they were concieved

See, now if ypu realy are gay, you can just blame it on your 5 year old daughter.

#273 you obviously a child who doesn't have an awesome dad huh?

Yeah and my birth mom had another child after me, my baby brother, he's 1 and I'm 13 years older then him, and then my birth moms 36 now

Well, she's five, so you would do anything to make her happy.

And this is an FML because....

3- usually I don't agree with comments like yours but this is one of the few occasions that I do. I don't see how this is an FML. Being an awesome enough dad to let your young daughter paint your nails isn't anything to be ashamed of. I think more parents now days should view their children with that much love and be that willing to make them happy, but sadly we've reached a time in human history where a great deal of dads (and moms too, I'm not trying to stereotype men here) just view their child(ren) as another monthly bill. OP, you be proud of yourself for being part of what is (sadly) becoming a minority in modern society. Be secure in your manhood, and if anyone trys to judge you on your green fingernails then just ignore them. Your daughter is one very lucky girl to have a dad as awesome as you.

.... that's seriously akward. I bet you looked like a fruit cup.
